CAMBRIDGE INVITATIONAL RESULTS

Results are now final for the Cambridge Invitational!  The top three teams were the Penguins with 3,162.5 points; Licking County 956 points and Grove City with 825.5 points.  There were 73 PBs at Cambridge and one PB Sweep -- Avery Venetta in all four of her events.  Two other Penguins swam PBs in 4 of 5 of their individual events: Justine Kenny and William Paull.   Penguins earning High Point honors in their age group were Michaela Neal (8 & Un Girls), Abbigale Newman (9-10 Girls), Erin Groves (11-12 Girls) and Matthew Lennon (13-14 Boys).  During the afternoon session, the Emps and Kings had some additional excitement with a "Triple Play" Challenge and the Emps were victorious!    Their prize was "not so much" of "that set" we've been doing the past week and we'll continue to do this week!   Congratulations! Awards will be distributed at the banquet along with Champs awards!

MEET RESULTS - LTPY vs LANCASTER

Who didn't have their fins crossed?  Thunder rolled in during the 500 free and cut some potential PB swims short, but we're not complaining (and certainly not Anton) since we've had much better luck this summer with the weather than last summer.  The following swimmers had a PB SWEEP (and yes, you can sweep even if you swim just one event):  Maria Basile, Johnny Bently,  Nick Cesario, Joel David, Seth deSanJose, Angela Guidarelli, Hadley Holquist, Nathan Ezzone, Taylor Limbert, Erin McCullough, Mitchell Newman, Ben Paull, Sofia Rosi, Abigail Weis, Holly vanderLans, Chandler Winans and Alexa Zardus.  John Smilges set a new team record in the 15-18 boys 200 breaststroke.

Thank you parents for all your hard work during our home meets this season and to everyone that helped with the fast clean-up when the meet was called.  E-mail Coach Chris if you suspect an error on the meet results.

WOW!  We made it through another summer meet -- a much different story than last summer, YEAH!   PBs were plentiful tonight and there were "21" PB Sweeps:  Hannah Beavers, Liz Bently, Leona Bently, Stephanie Cesario, Alli Gaiss, Erin Groves, David Joel, Angela Guidarelli, Hadley Holquist, Luke Jaycox, Erin McCullough, Kirsten Mead, Sarah Paull, Georgia Pendleton, Rachel Peroni, Katie Pione, Landon Reamer, Anton Rosi, Sofia Rosi, Rachael Varias, and Jackie Woskobnick.  Great Job Penguins!

MEET RESULTS - LTPY at Licking County YMCA

Penguins love cold water, but we found out not so much early in the morning in Newark!   A PB was tough to get especially in the 25 meter pool.  However, three Penguin swimmers had a PB SWEEP on the day:  Grace Bently, Taylor Limbert and William Paull.   Penguin PB Results

MEET RESULTS- First Home Meet vs SEEEYA

Fins were crossed!!  We actually finished a summer meet and before it got dark!!   WAY TO GO PENGUINS!  There were a number of PBs and "13" PB SWEEPS: Liz Bently, Daniel Blaine, Joel David, David Grzelak, Madison Ham, Jared Helmlinger, Colleen Jaycox, Spencer Mead, Josh Messner, Samantha Persons, Christian Reamer, Hunter Ryan and Avery Venetta.  (To get a PB Sweep, swimmers must legally swim all their events on the day of the meet and improve in each one they have a time established.  If a swimmer PBs as the lead-off swimmer in the medley relay (backstroke), that becomes swimmer's best time.  If the swimmer then swims the individual 50 backstroke later in the meet, they must beat their lead-off medley relay split).

At dual meets, only three (3) swimmers from the same team can score in individual events.  Other swimmers will be marked with an "x" so they are excluded from the scoring.  Penguin swimmers will still receive ribbons 1st through 6th place.  Relays from the same team can only score two (2) relays.
