End of the Season
New England Championship Meets
New England Swimming, the governing body for USA Swimming in the New England area, hosts end of the year championship meets.
These meets are away meets so families are responsible for their lodging, transportation, and food costs.
Swimmers are encouraged to compete in these meets, but it is a family’s decision to attend.
Whether you attend a championship meet or not, the time standards used for these meets become goals for everyone.
-
Time standards are required times needed to enter the meet.
-
All meets have a “cut on” time meaning if you do not have this time, you cannot participate.
-
Some meets have a “cut off” time meaning if you are faster than this time you can not compete.
-
There are always exceptions to both rules because we swim in different size pools and elite meets require standards by pool.
