High School Swimming
The high school swimming season opens on November 6, 2006 and ends with the
State Championship Meet on February
9-10, 2007. The State Meet
will be held at UNH with the preliminary rounds of diving held on Friday
evening. All swimming events and the
final round of diving are held on Saturday.
The Saturday morning session is a prelim session with the top 12
advancing to finals in the evening.
In a prelim/finals meets, only those athletes that advance
to the evening session can score points.
Swimmers in the top six (finals round) can not score any lower than 6th
place while those in the consolation heat can not score better than 7th
place.
In the prelim heats, the top 18 swimmers are circle seeded
in the top 3 heats. All other heats are
seeded from fastest to slowest.
Swimmers can achieve a qualifying time during any NHIAA
sanctioned meet. All swimmers must have
competed in at least 4 NHIAA sanctioned meets.
Diving: Divers must have completed a minimum of 11 dives throughout
the season. Two (2) different dives from
each of the five (5) categories and one (1) additional optional dive from any
of the five (5) for a total minimum of 11 different dives. No diver shall attempt a dive at the State
Championship Meet that has not been attempted at least once in competition
during qualification period.
