Luke Rowley

"Live life." ~ Unknown

Luke, a Junior at Saugus, says his motivation at practice and meets comes from the simple challenge of swimming and the want to better himself as a swimmer. Additionally, he says it is his two sisters who inspire him. He states, "My two sisters both inspire me, not just in swimming but in life, by showing me what's possible and pushing me to do my best."

To prepare for a race, Luke says, "I like to get into my zone and just visualize my race and how I'm going to swim. That gets me psyched for my race."

When Luke is not swimming, he enjoys dirt bike riding, bike riding (anything on two wheels), hanging out with his friends, long boarding, surfing, or just getting outdoors. He also enjoys watching his favorite movie, Lucky Number Slevin, and following his favorite athlete, Australian born, surfing guru, Taj Burrow.

When it comes to important qualities, Luke says, "One of the most important qualities of a swimmer is a level head, being able to focus on the race, workout, etc...and block out all other distractions in order to do your best." As a Captain, Luke advises his teammates to "relax when it comes to races and other stressful moments, just focus on the task at hand and realize it will not hurt you to try hard."
