Barracuda Aquatics Club conducts swim classes/clinics throughout the year in Bloomington and Shakopee in cooperation with Bloomington Community Education, Bloomington Park and Recreation and Shakopee Park and Recreation. Below is information on when the classes are in session and how to enroll.
Bloomington-Richfield Community Education Introduction to Competitive Swimming - Youth
The purpose of this Introduction to Competitive Swimming Class is to provide swimmers, level 4 and up, with a basic introduction to competitive swimming skills.The class will be taught and directed by a USA Swimming Certified Professional Swim Coach from the Bloomington based BARRACUDA AQUATICS CLUB.Participants will learn to:
- Execute competitive swimming technique drills in Butterfly, Backstroke (Back
Crawl), Breaststroke and Freestyle (Front Crawl).
- Learn and develop competitive racing turns for all 4 competitive strokes.
- Be able to execute the 4 competitive strokes efficiently.

Shakopee Parks and Recreation
Competitive Swim Camp This class is offered in the summer only. The next class will be conducted in August of 2010. Join us for a week of stroke clinics and competitive swimming fun. Participants will learn techniques for the 4 competitive strokes including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. A mini swim meet will be held on Friday of the camp for parents and friends to come watch!
